What is pinterest?
Pinterest is a website that collects different elements on the web where a user can search different content and group similar web links or, "pins" into a common area otherwise known as a "board". Pinterest has many different uses from wedding ideas to recipes but I see Pinterest being most useful when it comes to looking for ideas for a classroom.
How to make a professional pinterest
As stated above, Pinterest can have many different uses but creating a separate, professional account was one of the best decisions I made as a pre-service teacher. The website is free and one can easily create an account using a google email address. Once the account is made, the website provides different topics of pins that one might be interested in-- I personally skipped this step already knowing the purpose of making this account was education. From there, one can use the search bar to search specific topics or general ideas and once the search button is hit, thousands of website links appear.
My professional Pinterest
Favorite Boards:
I am very familiar with Pinterest and I was really excited to explore educational ideas since I had not had that experience before. I created boards for subject areas like math, literacy, and science. I knew I wanted to create boards for those subjects because there are an endless number of strategies and experiments that I would be willing to try in the future. I also created a board for classroom environment. This was the board that I was most excited to create and search for because many pins that showed up included pins on how to set up a classroom and different posters of classroom expectations. One things that I am most excited for about becoming a teacher is having the freedom to layout my classroom anyway I want and being able to research ideas on how to best do that for my future students excites me.
Component 4E and Pinterest:
Pinterest perfectly fits under component 4E of the Danielson Framework because the purpose of teachers using Pinterest is to generate new ways of teaching lesson or improving their classrooms. Ideas that teachers find on Pinterest that enhance their lessons is considered growing and developing professionally because they are learning new ideas and techniques can could change or upgrade the teaching of content.

Pinterest in the classroom
Overall Experience: I absolutely love Pinterest and all the educational tools and ideas that it has to offer! I was surprised to see all of the different ideas for a certain math or literacy lesson. I have already used Pinterest on past lessons that I have needed to create for methods courses and I could not be more thankful for the suggestions it has provided me with.
Future Classroom: When looking at all the educational technology websites that I have visited and explored, I can see myself as a teacher using Pinterest the most. The fact that the website is free and through it you are able to get ideas on certain educational elements is very attractive and with those ideas, I will be able to adapt and change them when needed.
