Creating a culture of learning within a classroom really focuses on learning as the priority. What this looks like is that the teacher sets a notion early in the year of what they expect the classroom to look like for the rest of the year. In doing this, the teachers gain the respect from students and create a benefitting community.
Creating this culture is important because it is a two way street-- both students and teachers need to have a goal of creating a culture of learning to be successful. This lets students set high goals, participate more, and have a betting understanding of the content being taught.

Summative Assessments:
In all graded work (i.e. quizzes, tests, papers, projects, etc.) there should be a set expectations that students should be required to achieve. Remind students of upcoming assignments through visual, auditory, and technological methods.
