What is it?
Demonstrating a knowledge of students is a very important component for teachers to know and put into practice. As necessary it is for teachers to know content and ways to teach it, knowing students strengths and weaknesses is essential for student success. As well as strengths and weaknesses, teacher should be aware of developmental issue is students need accommodations to having a knowledge of cultural backgrounds for students who are not familiar with American education. It is important for teachers to have a knowledge of their students because it can help the teacher plan lessons accordingly and also create lessons that would be the most exciting and engaging.

Interest Inventory: Teacher gives the student a worksheet that asks them questions about themselves and their family life. Some example questions include number of siblings, favorite movie, and what they want to be when they grow up.
Student Feedback Forms: Teachers can create a simple feedback survey to ask student opinions on a lesson, project, or paper and the students can either anonymously or not give their honest feedback of what they engaged in.
