what does it mean?
To guide students in their education. teacher should and are expected to have a full knowledge of content being taught and methods that display that content easily to students. Within content, there many different directions that a teacher can go about content, but its important to know your students and to identify which concepts to focus on for full understanding. Teachers with experience go far beyond knowing the content, but know the most successful and beneficial pedagogical approaches to guide students in the most achievement.
It is important to know content as well as the valuable pedagogy because content builds on each other as a student progresses from grade to grade and as a teacher, it is our job to provide students with tools and skills to understand what is being taught and being able to apply the information in years to come.
